Janis Holt of Silsbee, Texas, was sworn in Tuesday, Jan. 14, as the state representative for House District 18 during a ceremony at the Texas State Capitol. House District 18 includes East Montgomery, Hardin, Liberty, and San Jacinto counties.
Holt brings a deep understanding of the region and a commitment to the people she serves. She has pledged to be an advocate for the district’s conservative values, emphasizing open communication, transparency, and collaboration with local leaders.
“I encourage my constituents to contact my office and let their voices be heard. My job is to represent you,” Holt said. “I am committed to working closely with local officials and stakeholders to create solutions that benefit our district and improve the quality of life in our communities.”
Holt’s legislative priorities include addressing challenges related to Colony Ridge, ensuring community safety and well-being, advocating for school choice, and strengthening public education.
