It is with deep sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Edith Nell Green, who left us on Jan. 19, 2025, at her home surrounded by love and comfort. Edith was born to parents Thomas Jefferson Martin and Lillie Mae Batey Martin on Aug. 9, 1934, in Extension, Louisiana.
Edith is preceded in death by her beloved husband, James H Green, Sr.; parents, Thomas and Lillie Martin; sons, James H. Green, Jr. and Perry Green; sisters, Vera Sanders and Vickie Janette Morris; brothers-in-law, Leroy L. Green, Sr. and wife Margaret Green, Charles Green; niece, Christine Green; nephew, Charles Green, Jr.
Those left to cherish her memory are her devoted daughter, Judy L. Bass; grandchildren, Robert M. Bellah and wife Cathy, Troy Green, Michael Green, Brent Green; great-grandchildren, Jessica Bellah, Nicholas Bellah; sister-in-law, Carolyn Green; nieces and nephews, Ernest Morris, Diane Green Wenzell and husband Jack, Deal Green Newberry and husband Dicky, Sue Green Bolin and husband Curtis, LeRoy L. Green, Jr., Brenda Fuselier and husband Bill, and Nancee Green; as well as numerous other great-nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Edith will be held in the Pace-Stancil Chapel in Cleveland, Texas, on Sunday, Jan. 26, from 1 – 2 p.m. The service will immediately follow at 2 pm on Sunday, Jan. 26, at the Pace-Stancil Chapel in Cleveland, Texas, with Diane Mayhew officiating. Edith will be laid to rest at Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens in Cleveland, Texas (12901 FM 2025 Cleveland TX 77328). Pallbearers for the service will be Robert M. Bellah, Michael Green, Brent Green, Jack Wenzell, LeRoy L. Green, Jr., Dicky Newberry.
