Wanda Kay Wilkerson

Wanda Kay Wilkerson, born on Feb. 26, 1977, in Houston, Texas, passed away on Jan. 27, 2025, in Cleveland, Texas. A devoted Medical Assistant, Wanda was known for her selfless nature and her unwavering commitment to making others happy She was not only loving wife, mother, and friend but also a faithful servant to The Lord, whose love for Jesus shone brightly in her life.

Wanda’s journey through life was marked by her deep affection for her family and friends. She celebrated 25 years of marriage with her husband, Shawn Wilkerson, a bond that was filled with love and dedication. Together, they nurtured a wonderful family that includes her cherished daughter, Haylee Cones, and sons: Braidy Wilkerson and wife Nicole, Bryant Wilkerson and fiancée Adicin Morgan, and Colten Wilkerson and wife Cheyane, and Jansyn Wilkerson. She took immense pride in her grandchildren: Braelynn Wilkerson, Colter Wilkerson, Gracelynn Wilkerson, Tracy Wilkerson, Remington Scott, Brooklyn Barnes, and Stetson Scott, each of whom brought her great joy.

Wanda was the daughter of Clyde Earhart, and she shared a close relationship with her step-mother, Jamie Earhart. She is also survived by her brothers Stephen Earhart, John Atkinson and wife Robin, Chris Atkinson and wife Diana, and her sisters Bobbie Oldfield and husband Sean, Glenda Earhart, Leslie Piechota-Nicosia and husband John, April Abbott and husband John, and Amy Hoover and husband Clint. Wanda’s legacy continues through many loving relatives and numerous friends who were touched by her vibrant spirit. Wanda’s family would also like to express their deepest gratitude to Glen and Tammy Wood for their love and care for Wanda. 

Wanda is preceded in death by her mother, Tracy Kimbro; her step-father, John R. Atkinson; her sister, Carrie Dawn Atkinson; and her step-brother, Troy Atkinson. 

Wanda will be remembered not only for her dedicated profession and the love she had for her family but also for her remarkable personality. Often described as a “cancer-fighting Ninja,” she faced her challenges with strength and resilience. Her love for the outdoors was evident in her hobbies—fishing, riding horses, and relishing the soothing sounds of the beach, where she enjoyed the feel of sand between her toes and gazing at the water.

Though Wanda has departed from this world, her spirit and the memories she created will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She leaves behind a remarkable legacy of love, faith, and strength.

A visitation for Wanda will be held at Neal Funeral Home 200 S. Washington Ave. Cleveland, TX 77327 on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held the following day, Monday, Feb. 3, 2025, at 1 p.m. Interment will immediately follow at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton, Texas.
