Geneva Lee Whittaker Sisk

Geneva Lee Whittaker Sisk, 87, of Moss Hill, passed away Monday, Feb. 17, 2025, in Houston.

Geneva was born Feb. 20, 1937, in Silsbee, to parents, George and Ona Lee Whittaker, and she was a lifelong resident of the Moss Hill area. Geneva was a graduate of Liberty High School, attended cosmetology school, and was a homemaker.

She was a member of Moss Hill United Pentecostal Church, volunteered in numerous church activities, and was a former member of the Moss Hill Cemetery Association.

Geneva enjoyed gardening, canning, genealogy, and working alongside her husband with the family farm. Geneva’s life was one well lived, a race well run, and a beautiful testimony of God’s goodness. To know her, was to know you were so very loved.

Mrs. Sisk was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Windell D. Sisk; and brothers: Arvin and Barry Whittaker. She is survived by daughter, Shirley Sisk; son, Dwayne Sisk and wife Carol Ann; grandchildren, Rebecca Hickman and husband Jacob, Joshua Sisk and wife Sarah, Patric Sisk and wife Meghan, Wendi Warner and husband Cody, Rhianna Fregia, Hannah Sisk, Lydia Sisk, Faith Sisk; and Rhianna Fregia; great-grandchildren, Olivia Hickman, Katelynn Hickman, Benjamin Hickman, Ella Hickman, and Meredith Sisk, brother, Wayne Whittaker and wife Wendy; sisters, JoAnn Whittaker and Judy Whittaker; and other loving family members and a multitude of friends.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Thursday, at the Allison Funeral Service Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 20, 2025, at the Allison Funeral Service Chapel with interment following at Moss Hill Community Cemetery.

  1. Sister Katherine call me Geneva. Oh Ms. Sisk I wasn’t raised like that but I will try! She commanded my respect and called to check on me and wished me a Merry Christmas. I will miss seeing her in church and her calls.
