Sgt. John Headrick with the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office gave a presentation to the Libertad Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and their guests, offering insight into how local tax dollars are spent.
Headrick walked the group through the process of purchasing vehicles for the sheriff’s office and the additional outfitting that follows — including the installation of emergency lights, decals, radios, computers, cameras, and other necessary equipment. He also shared dash cam footage to demonstrate how the technology aids deputies, especially in incidents such as traffic collisions.
Following the presentation, Headrick answered questions next to a newly outfitted sheriff’s truck.

Most taxpayers in Liberty County don’t have a problem with how our tax dollars are spent by the Sheriff Department as long as they see results and we see a lot of results! The Courts are where we don’t get our money’s worth. Start giving out max sentences instead of the revolving door policy and maybe criminals will get the message.
