As part of its final acts before ceasing operations, Liberty County EMS is giving back to the community it served for decades. On Monday, April 28, Liberty County EMS founder Mike Koen personally delivered a 15-kilowatt Generac portable generator to the newly opened Moss Hill fire station, part of Liberty County Emergency Services District #7 (ESD 7).
The donation marks the continuation of Liberty County EMS’s tradition of supporting local first responders, even as the organization prepares to close its doors for good.
Koen said Moss Hill was chosen because keeping the fire station operational during hurricanes and power outages is critical to maintaining public safety. The new generator is strong enough to power the entire facility through major weather events, ensuring that firefighters and emergency responders can continue serving the community without interruption.
“This organization is near and dear to my heart,” Koen said, reflecting on his many years of service on the Liberty County ESD 7 board. “It made sense to ensure Moss Hill had the support it needed. We wanted to leave something behind that would continue to help people when it matters most.”
The Moss Hill fire station, which opened earlier this year, plays a crucial role in protecting residents in the growing area. With the donation of the generator, the station will now be even better equipped to respond to emergencies, no matter the conditions outside.
Richard Ewing, president of ESD 7, expressed deep appreciation for both the donation and Koen’s long-standing dedication to the community.
“We’ve always had a good working relationship with Liberty County EMS when they were in service,” Ewing said. “We also appreciate all the time that Mike Koen has given to the community. We will put this new asset to good use.”

LOL, they went out of business 4 years ago… How long they going to drag out “going out of business “? Allegiance Mobile Health has been running all the medical. What has Liberty County EMS been doing ? Nothing…
