Russell Wayne Giles

Russell Wayne Giles, a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, went to be with his Heavenly Father on April 23, 2025, at the age of 60. Born on Dec. 14, 1964, in Baytown, Texas, Russell led a life marked by love, hard work, and a remarkable ability to connect with those around him.

Russell enjoyed a successful career as an architectural millworker in the construction industry, where his resourcefulness and ingenuity were evident in every project he undertook. He was known for his exceptional talent and craftsmanship. A true jack-of-all-trades, Russell had an uncanny knack for fixing anything broken. He always had the right parts on standby, ensuring he was always ready to fix, restore, or improve anything.

His education included completing high school and pursuing some college, which laid the foundation for his professional endeavors. Beyond his career, Russell took great pleasure in indulging his hobbies, which included hunting, fishing, woodworking and tinkering in the shop. He also cherished the moments spent supporting his children and grandchildren in their sporting activities, showcasing his unwavering love for family.

Russell is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Giles, with whom he shared 38 years of marriage. He is also survived by his devoted children: Jeromy Giles and his wife Crystal; Joshua Giles and his wife Linda; and Jonathan Giles and his wife Lisset. He adored his grandchildren: Bow White and his wife Makinley, Corbin, Adalyn, and Anderson; and his great-grandson, Luka. Russell is also survived by his loving mother, Florence Giles, and his sisters: Robin Hearn; Libby Peddicord and her husband Mark; Bridgette McMillan and her husband Bobby; and Crystal Bortz and her husband Michael. Additionally, he leaves behind many other loving relatives and a host of friends who will dearly miss his spirit.

Russell’s Celebration of Life will be Saturday, May 3, at 11 a.m. at Rural Shade Baptist Church.
