Clyde Lee Somers

Bro. Clyde Lee Somers was born in Harlingen, Texas on Oct. 28, 1944, to parents, Clyde Russell Somers and Flora Bell “Pansy” Cloud Somers. He entered Heaven’s Gates on May 19, 2025, at the age of 80 years.

Clyde graduated from LaFeria High School in 1963 and graduated from Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas, with a Bachelor of Science in 1967. He went to Theological Seminary for 3 years and has been a Minister of God ever since then. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Russell Somers and Flora Bell “Pansy” Somers; son, Keith Dane Somers; sister, Betty Lynn Parker; grandson, Brian Andrew Somers. Clyde is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Beverly Somers; beloved sons, Kevin Lee Somers and Melody, and Kyle David Somers and Cassie; grandchildren, Dustin Somers and Beth, Allison Hellyer and George, Kyndol Thompson and Antonio, Andrew Somers and Taylor, Kelton Somers and Christa, Kody Somers, David Somers, and Dillon Somers; great-grandchildren, Trace Somers, Crawford Hellyer, Trent Somers, Aria Somers, and Cavan Hellyer. 

Visitation will be in the Pace-Stancil Chapel on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Funeral Service will begin at 12 p.m. with Bro. Silas Hare officiating. Burial will follow in the Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens. Pallbearers for the service will be, George Hellyer, Dustin Somers, Andrew Somers, Kelton Somers, David Somers, and Dillon Somers.
