Liberty HS Choir invited to perform at Carnegie Hall in NYC

The Liberty High School Choir will take the stage at New York’s world-renowned Carnegie Hall this summer as part of an afternoon of outstanding choral music presented by MidAmerica Productions.

The concert is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2025, in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall. Under the direction of Christie Bean, the Liberty High School Choir will perform Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem in D Minor, joined by soprano Amani Cole-Felder, baritone Jonathan Patton, and conducted by Sarah Herrington. The choir will also present Fauré’s Cantique de Jean Racine, Op. 11, conducted by Noah Palmer.

“We are thrilled to showcase the exceptional talent of the Liberty High School Choir, on one of the world’s most prestigious stages,” said James E. Redcay III, Chief Executive Officer of MidAmerica Productions. “The invitation extended to the ensemble is a testament to the outstanding musicianship and dedication of their singers. We are proud to welcome them to perform as part of our 42nd season at Carnegie Hall.”

The Liberty High School Choir will be joined onstage by the Hughes Middle School Vocal Collective from Long Beach, Calif.; Saratoga Voices of Burnt Hills, N.Y.; and Wayland Baptist University Choirs from Plainview, Texas.

As part of the experience, participating students and directors will spend five days and four nights in New York City, including nine to ten hours of rehearsal and time for sightseeing.

The program also features several other major works, including:

  • Mozart’s Mass in C Major, K.317, “Coronation,” conducted by William White, with soloists Amani Cole-Felder (soprano), Allison Gish (contralto), David Blalock (tenor), and Jonathan Bryan (baritone). Also on the program is Mozart’s Regina Coeli in C Major, K.276, conducted by Rachel Samet, featuring Vianca Alejandra (soprano), Allison Gish (contralto), David Blalock (tenor), and Jonathan Bryan (baritone). Participating choruses include Cherry Creek Chorale, Greenwood Village, Colo., (Brian Patrick Leatherman, Director); D’Evelyn Concert Choir, Denver, Colo., (William White, Director); Cal Poly Humboldt University Singers, Arcata, CA (Rachel Samet, Conductor); and University of Tennessee Southern Choirs, Pulaski, TN (Andrew Martin, Director).
  • ● Rossini’s Overture to La scala di seta and Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E Minor, Op. 64, featuring violinist Davide Alogna and conducted by Giorgio Rodolfo Marini.
