Michael Douglas Harrison

Michael Douglas Harrison, age 57, passed away unexpectedly on May 21, 2025, in Houston, Texas. Doug, as he was affectionately known, was born on March 10, 1968, in Liberty, Texas. He was a graduate of Sharpstown High School class of 1988 and attended Texas State Technical Institute.

Doug was born two months premature and faced cerebral palsy with extraordinary courage, determination, and a spirit that inspired everyone around him. He faced countless obstacles that many thought he would never be able to overcome. Doug lived a life of purpose and impact. He had a very deep love for his family and cherished his friendships.

Some of the best days of Doug’s life were spent being the ball boy for his dad’s football teams at Sharpstown and Robert E. Lee high schools in Houston. He looked forward to those times and they fueled his lifelong love of football.

Doug is preceded in death by his parents Robert “Bo” and Jo Ann Harrison. His grandparents, Coyle and Margaret Harrison and J.W. and Cecil Seals. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his sister, Donna Lynn Harrison Nabers. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews, Lauren Nabers Waldrop (Bryer), Kailey Anne Nabers, Jack Harrison Nabers and Samuel Scott Nabers as well as numerous cousins, friends and loved ones. Special thanks go out to Diane Brakken and Da’rell Davis for the compassionate and loving care that they have provided Doug over the past several years.

Services will be held graveside at Fairlawn Memorial Cemetery in Liberty, Texas on May 29, 2025, at 11 a.m. There, Doug will be laid to rest next to his loving mom and dad. A reception will be held immediately following at Liberty House.
