The Liberty County Community Coalition (LCCC) will host its upcoming meeting on Tuesday, June 17, with a focus on strengthening community disaster preparedness. The event will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Health Center of Southeast Texas, located at 307 N. William Barnett Ave.

The meeting will feature presentations from Antwyne Johnson, emergency management coordinator for Liberty County, and Cody Allen, disaster assessment and recovery agent with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension. Both speakers bring expertise in emergency response planning and disaster recovery, offering attendees valuable insights into how to prepare for and respond to crises in the region.

LCCC organizers emphasize that the gathering is a key opportunity for community members, service organizations and local agencies to connect, collaborate and share strategies for strengthening community disaster preparedness.

With hurricane season underway and extreme weather events common to Southeast Texas, local readiness and partnerships are more important than ever.

Those interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP by scanning the QR code below or by emailing mchiappe@emergencyhs.care. Light refreshments will be provided.

In addition, the coalition is currently accepting content submissions for its July–September LCCC Newsletter. Community members and organizations are invited to send event flyers, announcements or program updates by Friday, June 14, for possible inclusion.

The event is open to the public.
