As the summer heats up, churches across Liberty County and surrounding communities are opening their doors—and hearts—to kids for this year’s Vacation Bible School programs. From Bible stories and worship to crafts, snacks, and music, VBS offers a fun, faith-filled experience for children of all ages.
Whether you’re looking for a week-long adventure or a one-day celebration, there are plenty of options available. Most programs are free and include meals or snacks, and some offer transportation or registration online. Below is a comprehensive list of local VBS events organized by community to help families find the right fit close to home. For more information on a church’s VBS event, contact them directly.
BAYTOWN
- Memorial Baptist Church, 600 W. Sterling, Baytown, is hosting VBS from June 15–20, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily. Lunch will be provided. Open to children in kindergarten through fifth grade. For more information, call 281-427-1725.
CLEVELAND
- Calvary Baptist Church, 816 N Blair Ave, will host VBS from June 16–20, 9 a.m. to noon daily. To register, scan the QR code on the flyer.
- Central Baptist Church of Cleveland, 615 Plum Grove Rd., will offer VBS from June 23–27, 6 to 9:15 p.m. nightly. The theme is “Ultimate Alaskan Adventure.”
- First Baptist Church of Cleveland, 300 W. Hanson St., will hold VBS June 23–27, 6 to 8 p.m. nightly, for children from pre-K through 12th grade. Register online at https://tinyurl.com/4r6n92y3.
COLDSPRING
- A one-day VBS program with the theme “Yo Ho Holy! A Pirate’s Guide to Jesus” will be held July 26, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the San Jacinto County Shelter, 225 Live Oak St., Coldspring.
CROSBY
- Mt. Rose Church, The City of Refuge, 13000 Crosby Lynchburg, Crosby, is hosting VBS from June 4–6, 6 to 8 p.m. nightly, for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. For more information call 281-328-1314.
- Crosby Church, 5725 US 90, Crosby, will host VBS from June 24–27, 9 a.m. to noon, except on June 25, which will be held at 7 p.m. Open to children ages 4 to 12. Snacks will be provided. This is a free event. Register by calling 281-328-1310.
DAISETTA
- First Baptist Church of Daisetta is hosting VBS every Wednesday in June from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The theme is “Lego and Let God.” Activities include Bible stories, food, crafts, games, and music for children in pre-K through fifth grade. DAYTON
- Faith Adventure Week will be held outdoors at the Dayton Community Center Gazebo Area. The event is scheduled for July 17, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Children entering kindergarten through completed 5th grade are invited. Thursday will be Family Night with free hotdogs and waterslides. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
- First Methodist Church of Dayton, 106 S. Cleveland St., is hosting VBS from June 23–26, 5:30 to 8 p.m. nightly. Open to children who have completed kindergarten through fifth grade. Call 936-258-8021 to sign up.
- First Baptist Church of Dayton, 202 E. Houston, will hold VBS June 30–July 3, from 9 a.m. to noon, following a Family Fun Night on June 29 from 6 to 8 p.m. The theme is ‘Magnified: discovering the bigness of God in the smallest of things.’ For students entering kindergarten through completed fifth grade. - The Ark Church, 810 Collins St., Dayton, is hosting VBS June 2–5 from 9 a.m. to noon. Open to children in kindergarten through fifth grade. The theme is ‘Magnified.’ This free event can be registered for by emailing thearkdayton@outlook.com.
- Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 1406 Beauty St., Dayton, will host VBS July 8–11, 6 to 9 p.m. nightly. Open to children age 3 through adult. The theme is ‘Eternity and Beyond.’ A fun day and movie night will take place July 12 from 2 to 5 p.m. Participants should wear pajamas and bring blankets or bean bags. DEVERS
- First Baptist Church of Devers is hosting Vacation Bible School from June 1–6, 5 to 7:30 p.m. nightly for children in pre-kindergarten through completed fifth grade.
DOLEN
- Dolen Baptist Church, 10078 FM 787 W., Cleveland, will hold VBS from July 27–31, 6 to 8:30 p.m. for students entering kindergarten through completed sixth grade. Dinner will be provided. The theme is “Made to Magnify God.”
HUFFMAN
- Lake Houston Methodist Church, 23606 FM 2100, Huffman, is hosting VBS from July 30–August 2.
KENEFICK
- New Life Church of Kenefick, 3056 FM 1008, will host a one-day VBS on June 28 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., including music, lunch, an illustrated lesson, outdoor games, and crafts. Parents should text their child’s name and age to 281-622-9836 to register.
- Kenefick Southern Baptist Church will host VBS from June 29–July 3. Open to children who have completed pre-K through fifth grade. Call the church for more information.
LIBERTY
- North Main Baptist Church, 4709 N. Main St., Liberty, is hosting VBS from June 9–13, 9 a.m. to noon. The theme is ‘Live It Out.’ Open to children age 4 through completed fifth grade.

- Fellowship in the Pines, 1936 FM 2610, Livingston, will host VBS July 7–11, from 5 to 8 p.m. nightly. Open to ages 5 to 12.
MONT BELVIEU
- The Sanctuary of Mont Belvieu, 10530 Eagle Dr., is hosting VBS July 28–30. The event begins at 6 p.m. on July 28–29 and at 7:30 p.m. on July 30.
- Mont Belvieu Methodist Church will host VBS July 27–30, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. nightly for children in kindergarten through sixth grade. Call the church for more information.
MOSS HILL
- Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 2988 HWY 105 East, Hull, is hosting VBS June 16–20, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. for kids who have completed pre-K through fifth grade. Call 936-346-6244.

- Moss Hill United Pentecostal Church will hold VBS June 20 from 6 to 8 p.m., June 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and June 22 at 11 a.m. For ages 4–12. Includes arts, crafts, music, snacks, and more. Located just east of SH 105/SH 146 in Moss Hill.
SARATOGA
- First Baptist Church of Saratoga is hosting VBS July 14–16, from 5 to 8 p.m. for children ages 5 to 12. The theme is ‘Live it Out: Discover How to Love Like Jesus.’
- First Assembly of God Church of Saratoga will host VBS July 21–23, 5 to 8 p.m. nightly.
SHEPHERD
- First Baptist Church of Shepherd will host VBS June 16–20, from 9 a.m. to noon.
SPLENDORA
- HighPoint Fellowship of Splendora, 12308 US 59, is hosting VBS June 2–4, from 9 a.m. to noon for children in kindergarten through fifth grade.
TARKINGTON
- Rural Shade Baptist Church, 3304 CR 2274, Cleveland (Tarkington), will host VBS June 23–27, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. nightly for children who have completed kindergarten through fifth grade. Free T-shirt for pre-registered attendees on the first night.
- Oak Shade Baptist Church, 1807 CR 2212, Cleveland (Tarkington), will hold VBS June 9–13, from 9 a.m. to noon. Kids are invited to “dust off your boots, get your bandanas” and learn to marvel at Jesus.
