Trinity Valley Chamber of Commerce to represent Liberty and Dayton areas

Board members and ambassadors for the Trinity Valley Chamber of Commerce took part in the celebration for its name change on Wednesday, June 11. It previously was known as the Dayton Chamber of Commerce.

Big changes are happening for the local business community. On Wednesday, June 11, the Dayton Chamber of Commerce officially became the Trinity Valley Chamber of Commerce, marking a new chapter for both Dayton and Liberty.

The name change was announced during a special celebration at the Liberty Center, where Chamber Board Chairman Sherri Schmidt and Past Board Chairman Dr. Constance Onemany unveiled the new name. The decision was made after chamber members voted on five possible names—and Trinity Valley Chamber of Commerce came out on top, getting around 68 percent of the votes.

“It was by far the front-runner,” Chamber CEO Sean Stockard told Bluebonnet News.

The rebranding reflects a joint effort between Dayton and Liberty to come together under one chamber. Liberty’s former chamber had dissolved some time ago, and leaders from both cities agreed that moving forward with one unified chamber made the most sense. One key requirement: the new name couldn’t include either city name, to reflect equal representation.

“The Chamber will no longer belong to one group or to one town,” Schmidt said before revealing the new name.

The new Trinity Valley Chamber of Commerce aims to better represent and serve businesses across the whole region—not just one city. It’s a fresh start, built on collaboration and a shared vision for growth and community connection. The next step will be creating a new logo for the organization.

In the coming weeks, the logo redesign contest will be opened up to the entire community and the Chamber website will be changed to reflect the new name.
