Sharon Arnold

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sharon Arnold, age 70, who departed this life on June 10, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Services are Saturday, June 21, 2025, at St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church, 213 Albritton Gully Rd., Hankamer, Texas. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until funeral at 11 a.m. Interment will be Sunday, Jun. 22, 2025, St. Louis Cemetery Tyler, Texas.

Sharon was born on June 20, 1954, in Hankamer, Texas, and lived a life full of warmth, love, and purpose. She was known for the way she could turn a simple meal into a feast and for always making space for others to feel at ease. Sharon had a deep love for cooking, traveling, and reading, and she carried herself with quiet strength and a calm presence that comforted those around her.

She spent over thirty years in the restaurant industry, working in various roles and earning the respect of her coworkers and community. Whether she was mentoring others on the job or sharing a story over the stove, Sharon made a lasting impression wherever she went. Sharon was deeply devoted to her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Jerry Arnold, father: Floyd Speights Sr., her brothers: Floyd Speights Jr. and Lemoore Lewis, her maternal grandparents: Hilton and Corine Lewis, and her paternal grandparents: Quedlus and Chaney Speights.

She leaves to cherish her memory her mother: Alice Speights; her daughters: Tammie (Robert) Berckefeldt and Jerrica (James) Williams; her grandchildren: Kendall Berckefeldt and Cooper Williams; her sister Sandra Joseph McGee; her nieces: Latasha Thompson and Tahita Speights; and a host of other nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Sharon’s legacy is one of resilience, laughter, and unconditional love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
