Raymond Charles “Fresh” Lane

Raymond Charles “Fresh” Lane, 63, of Beaumont, Texas, departed life on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at Spindletop Nursing and Rehabilitation.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Jun. 21, 2025, at Proctor’s Mortuary 3522 Washington Blvd., Beaumont, Texas. 

Raymond was born on August 26, 1961, in Beaumont, Texas. He graduated from Beaumont-Charlton Pollard in 1979. He was a member of the school’s Track and Field Team and excelled at the long jump; he held a record in the school’s long jump. After high school Raymond attended a small-town college in Oklahoma on a track scholarship. He later transferred closer to home to Lee College of Baytown, Texas.

Raymond held various jobs in the Beaumont area mainly industrial painting at the different plant sites of Beaumont. For a short while he worked as a coach at Our Mother of Mercy elementary school. Later in life he did PRN work with the Gift of Life foundation.

Raymond was preceded in death by his mother, Daisy M. Lane. His grandparents Roy and Elizabeth Smith. His aunt Mary Owens Wells, and Uncle SSGT Rufus J. Renfro.

He leaves to cherish his memories his daughter: Felicia Freddie, son: Damond Lane, his aunts: Betty Pollard (Alvin), Delisa Guidry (Rodney) and Helen Marks, seven grandchildren, and a host of cousins and friends.

Raymond may have been an only child, but he was covered in love by the many relatives he leaves behind. His memories will always be with us.
