
Lasonny Shea Speights Douglas, 46, of San Antonio, Texas, passed June 22, 2025.
A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, July 5, 2025, at St. Mary Baptist Church, 213 Albritton Gully Rd., Hankamer, Texas.
Lasonny also Known as “Pooh Bear” was born on April 21, 1979, in Liberty, Texas. She was born to the late Anthony Earl Wickliff and Ira Renee Speights. Lasonny attended grade School at Devers ISD and high school in Liberty, Texas. At 14 years of age, Lasonny transferred to Dayton ISD.
Later in life after giving birth to two sons, she decided to increase her knowledge and abilities as she attended cosmetologist trade school in Beaumont, Texas. Lasonny’s gifts and talents were in helping others enhance their visible look and took great joy in giving to others.
Lasonny was raised in the church at an early age, she was baptized through the submerge of water. Lasonny attended Galilee Baptiste Church where she sang in the choir and worked in various ministries within the Church. When Lasonny transferred to Dayton, she moved her membership to Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church under the late Rev. Dr. R.J. Revels, Jr., and youth director Minister C. Revels.
Later in life, she moved to San Antonio and enrolled in the home and joined Victory Gospel Chapel where She served until the Lord called her to rest from her labor under the guidance of the late Bishop Donnie Banks, and presently Prophetess Jackie Banks (Spiritual Mother). Lasonny always had a bible, and peppermints with her no matter where she went. She loved the Lord and would brighten up with a humongous smile as she would discuss the goodness of Jesus with everyone. Lasonny was a young lady that had a vision ever present before her. She was a giver from the heart of compassion and loved to cook. Lasonny’ s talent consisted of her being hands on to operate.
When she saw her family arrive from Southeast Texas to her residence, a glow and smile as big as New York would cover her face. Lasonny loved people and worked with customer service. Lasonny was employed by McDonald’s for a number of years. Lasonny was a wonderful wife, daughter, mother, sister, niece, grandmother, friend, and servant of the most high God. She was devoted to her family, and church family but her children were her very heartbeat.
She was preceded in death by her daddy: Anthony E. Wickliff, Son: Hansome A. Speights, both set of grandparents: Ruth Frank, J.V. Speights/ Joe Louis Douglas, Marva and Raymond Wickliff.
Lasonny leaves to cherish her memories, her husband: Rodric D. Douglas Sr., Four Children: Kallea Ainsworth, Christian “Bubba” Ainsworth, Molyasia Speights, and Rodrick Douglas, JR. Two grandchildren: Kyntrell and Klover Ainsworth. Mother: Evangelist Ira Rene Speights- Albritton (Archie), Three brothers: Lester Lewis III, Bobby D. Lewis, Christopher Batiste, Three Sisters: Knaya E. Lewis, Chantel Thomas and Cobranekia Thompson. Godmothers: Lenda Patterson & Minister Jacqueline Speights, God Sister: Kim Jones Mother-in-Law: Nadene Douglas, Spiritual Sister: Elder Yvette Davis. Special alone with a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
