Catherine “Cathy” Haidusek

Catherine “Cathy” Haidusek, 75, of Devers, passed away Monday, July 7, 2025, at her residence.

Cathy was born Dec. 5, 1949, in Houston to Viola “Vi” and Victor Kubacak. After her father’s untimely passing while Cathy was a young girl, her mother remarried Lester Lord who lovingly adopted her. Cathy was the eldest child in her family and spent most of her childhood in Baytown, Texas with her siblings Janice and Wayne. She was a proud graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown and attended Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas.

Cathy met and married the love of her life, Don Haidusek in 1982. They built a beautiful life together welcoming a son John in 1983. Formerly, a resident of Raywood, they had resided in Devers for the past 29 years. She was a retired dispute officer for the Texas Workers’ Compensation Commission. Cathy was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Liberty and was involved in Ducks Unlimited and the Liberty County Master Gardener Association. Cathy especially enjoyed being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved gardening, cooking, sewing, and photography. She used her talents to make her and Don’s home a warm and inviting place where many holidays and family celebrations were hosted.

Mrs. Haidusek was preceded in death by her fathers: Victor Kubacak and Lester Lord, mother: Viola “Vi” Lord, grandson: Sheldon Prince, cousin: Garrett Haidusek, and brother-in-law: Larry Parker. She is survived by her husband of 43 years: Don Haidusek, son: John Haidusek and wife Charlotte “Co”, daughters: Sonya Niazy and husband Jeff, Charlotte Rainwater and husband Alan, and Jennifer Miller, sister: Janice Parker, brother: Wayne Lord and wife Lily, grandchildren: Charleigh Haidusek, Hutton Haidusek, Jake (Amber) Taylor, Sarah George, Sydney George, Chelsea (Denton) Hargrave, and Maxwell Miller, niece: Lindsay French, nephews,: Eric Lord, Austin Lord, Andrew Lord, and David Parker, numerous great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with rosary services at 7 p.m., Monday, at the Allison Funeral Service Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with interment following at Ricebelt Cemetery in Devers.
