Letter to the community: Thank you for supporting SRT fundraiser

To our wonderful Liberty County community,

On behalf of the Liberty County multi-agency Special Response Team (SRT), I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out on Saturday, Aug. 9, played in the softball games, and helped us raise funds for training and equipment. Your support means the world to us.

This isn’t just about one event. It’s about recognizing a group of dedicated law enforcement volunteers, the officers other officers call when things get tough. These individuals train on their own time, often with their own money, to be ready for those critical moments. When cops in Liberty County need backup, they call on the Liberty County SRT, and that team is built on the selflessness of volunteers.

Thanks to your generosity, we can ensure they get the training and gear they need. We’re incredibly grateful to live in a place where the community stands behind those who protect us. Your support shows these volunteers that their hard work and dedication do not go unnoticed.

Thank you for being part of this effort. Together, we’re making Liberty County a safer place.

With deepest appreciation,

John Wayne Bennett

Assistant Commander, Liberty County SRT
