Benjamin Zane Miller

Benjamin Zane Miller, a devoted father, son, and loyal friend, was born on Oct. 18, 1991, in Baytown, Texas. He passed away surrounded with love, on Aug. 8, 2025, in Baytown, Texas, at the age of 33, leaving a legacy marked by his unwavering commitment to family and friends.

Ben embarked on a fulfilling career as a plant operator immediately after graduating high school, highlighting his strong work ethic and dedication. Known for his vibrant personality, he was a faithful and steadfast presence in the lives of those who knew him. Ben was often the life of the party, embracing his role as a jokester with a wit that could brighten any room. He had a spontaneous spirit, never meeting a stranger and building connections with an expansive circle of friends.

Alongside his professional pursuits, Ben had a deep love for the outdoors. He cherished moments spent hunting, fishing, camping, and hiking in breathtaking locations across the world—from Ireland and Scotland to Colorado. These adventures not only fulfilled his adventurous spirit but also provided cherished memories that he shared with his loved ones.

Ben was a devoted father to his beloved daughter, Opal. She was his world, and he took immense pride in being her dad, instilling in her the values of love and family. He is survived by his parents, Dale, and Kelly Miller; his wife, Carson Root; his daughter, Opal Rosemary Root Miller; his grandmother, Sue Janice Vanya; his niece, MaKena Miller; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his brother, Philip Chase Miller, and his grandparents, Raymond Leroy Vanya, Leonard L. Loftin, and Joy Loftin.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of this remarkable man. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2025, from 5 to 8 p.m., at Calvary Tabernacle Ministries, located at 28333 Farm to Market Road 770, Batson, TX 77519. A funeral service will take place the following day, Thursday, Aug. 14, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the same location, officiated by Pastor Tolbert Hudspeth and Pastor Dale May. Interment to follow at Guedry Cemetery, Batson, Texas.

As we reflect on the vibrant life Ben led, we remember his adventurous soul, his laughter, and his loving spirit. He will forever remain in our hearts.
