Maria Refugia Chavez

Maria Refugia Chavez was born to Alejandro Aguilar and Petra Moreno on July 4, 1944, in San Luis Potosí, Mexico. She passed away peacefully at her home in Liberty, Texas, on July 19, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Maria was a devoted and compassionate woman whose kindness touched everyone she met. She retired after 18 years of dedicated service at Magnolia Nursing Home, where her caring spirit made a lasting impact on her coworkers and the many lives she touched.

As a loving mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law, Maria was the rock of her family. She was always ready to step in when needed, and her unwavering support was a constant source of comfort and strength.

She found joy in the simple things—especially being outdoors and taking in the beauty of nature. Maria is survived by her beloved children: Arturo (Rosalina) Chavez, Ernesto (Francisca) Chavez, Elvira Chavez, Consuelo Chavez, Alejandro (Graciella) Chavez, and Joel Chavez; her 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry her love and legacy forward. She will be deeply missed but remembered always for her strength, grace, and the unconditional love she shared so freely.
