Leslie Alton Penick Jr.

Leslie Alton Penick Jr., age 73, passed away on Aug. 10, 2025. He was born on May 30, 1952, to Leslie Alton Penick Sr. and Helen Faye Roberts, and was joined eighteen months later by his twin brothers, Larry and Garry. Leslie attended school in Anahuac, Texas, and during his Junior High and High School years, enjoyed playing football. He was awarded second team All-District honors playing linebacker his junior year, and as a senior, won first team All-District honors playing offensive tackle.

Leslie attended and graduated from Lamar University with a degree in Computer Science and worked for several years at Baptist Hospital in their computer programming department. He later returned home to Anahuac, where he helped with the family businesses of rice-farming and insurance sales.

In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends. Leslie will be remembered for his gentle soul, his quiet strength, and the love he gave freely to those around him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
