Leon Joseph Moulton Sr.

Leon Joseph Moulton Sr., 79, of Double Bayou, Texas, passed peacefully on Friday, Aug. 15, 2025.

Services are Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2025, at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 338 Church Rd., Anahuac, Texas (Double Bayou). Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until Funeral at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Martha Godfrey Cemetery, Anahuac, Texas (Double Bayou).

Leon was born on July 9, 1946, in Double Bayou, Texas, to the late Norris and Ruth Moulton. Leon received Christ at an early age, as he was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Double Bayou.

Leon attended school in the community of Double Bayou where he graduated in May of 1964. Four years later, he married the love of his life, Annabelle Moulton, as their matrimony lasted over 57 years until Annabelle was recently called home on Aug. 24, 2024. From this marriage two sons were born, Leon Moulton Jr. and Chris Moulton.

In 1968, Leon was drafted into the US Army where he eventually ranked as an E-5 Sargent over the Armored Tank division. He obtained his honorable discharge after serving the majority of his time in Germany in preparation for the Vietnam war.

Leon began working for Brown & Root/KBR as well as Zachry Industrial Services for over 35 years at what was once Gulf Oil, later becoming Chevron/Chevron Phillips. There he was a long-time supervisor leading and directing groups of insulators, carpenters and painters. Leon retired at an early age from this occupation to continue focusing on his cattle which kept him occupied for many years.

Leon was also raised to the level of Master Mason here in Double Bayou as a member of the Nobel Eagle 537 Lodge PHA.

Leon is preceded in death by his parents Norris and Ruth, brothers: Jessie White (Carolyn); Melvin Moulton (Carol); Herbert “Bone” Moulton, and the love of his life, his wife Mrs. Annabelle Moulton.

Leon leaves to cherish his memories; Leon Moulton Jr. (Irma) and Chris Moulton (Maria); (5) Grandchildren and (7) Great Grandchildren. He also leaves to cherish his memories, (2) Sisters: Rosetta Moulton and Bernita Thibodeaux, and many relatives and friends.
