Authorities release images of person of interest in Colony Ridge shooting

Jose Osman Aguilar Cantillano has been identified as the suspect in a double murder and shooting of four others at the Alas Locas sports bar in Colony Ridge.

The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man captured on surveillance video at the Alas Locos sports bar shortly before a fatal shooting early Sunday morning. The Hispanic male subject, shown in still images released Sunday evening, is considered a person of interest in the case.

Tips can be made by calling the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office at 936-336-4500 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-392-7867.

The shooting occurred around 2:27 a.m. Sept. 7 at the bar on CR 5018 in the Colony Ridge community south of Plum Grove. According to Capt. David Meyers, spokesperson for the sheriff’s office, the motive for the shooting is unknown. Investigators believe the suspect had been inside the bar about 30 minutes before the shooting and then waited in the parking lot.

Five men and one woman were shot or otherwise injured in the incident. One Hispanic male died, and his identity is being withheld until family members are notified. Another male victim remains in critical condition after being flown by air ambulance to Memorial Hermann Hospital in downtown Houston. A second male victim was airlifted to LBJ Hospital in Houston.

The remaining victims were taken to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

“All of the victims as well as the alleged shooter are Hispanic,” Meyers told Bluebonnet News.

The Texas Rangers and the Liberty County District Attorney’s Office assisted deputies at the scene, and investigators continue to review video footage and evidence from the sports bar.

  1. Sheriff department said during last news conference that they have been in contact with ICE, but didn’t divulge his status yet. I think we can all conclude what that means. Get them out of our county!
