
Katherine Credit Harper, age 72, originally from Port Arthur, Texas, resided in Beaumont, Texas, passed away peacefully on Sept. 7, 2025 at Harbor Hospice.
A celebration of Katherine’s life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025, at West Tabernacle Baptist Church with visitation beginning at 9am and funeral service at 11 am. Friends and loved ones are invited to gather, share memories, and honor her life. Interment will be in Pear Orchard Cemetery Beaumont, TX.
Katherine was born on May 8, 1953, in Winnsboro, La to Tom Credit Sr. and Lucille Rollins Credit. “Kid” as her family would call her, lived a life filled with love, strength, and resilience.
Katherine is a graduate of Lincoln HS class of 1971, home of the Lincoln Bumblebees. She joined the workforce after high school with a trade in welding being employed by Bethlehem Steel in Orange, Tx for several years. She later became a healthcare provider where she worked hard and diligently to provide the best care for her patients that even some became more like family. Katherine was an active, strong, and devoted member at West Tabernacle Baptist church where she ushered until her health began to fail her. Katherine was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She touched the lives of everyone she met with her warmth, compassion, generosity and straight forward humor. She found joy in cooking for her family and friends, baking, sewing, ushering at her church shopping with her best friend Cynthia Brown, and loving on and spoiling her grandkids.
She will be deeply missed by her children; Tyrone “Ty” Credit, Gregory “Pop” Joubert Jr, Kimberly Prejean (Billy), Kiesha Lee (Mark), grandchildren; Amesha, Tylan, Jakobi, Camren, Caleb, Christian, Katelynn, Khloe , and Zion, great grandchild, Sorella, brothers; Tom Credit Jr (Constance) Moses Credit (Jacqueline) Bernard Credit (Easter) and Carl Credit, sisters; Yvonne Credit Eli, Karen Credit (Latarsha). Katherine is preceded in death by her parents; Tom Credit Sr., and Lucille Credit, siblings; Linda Credit, Aaron Credit, and Leon Credit.
Katherine’s love and legacy will live on forever in the hearts of those she touched.
