
Abraham Lincoln Bagby, 90, of Anahuac, Texas, also known as “Mr. Abe or the fisherman,” passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loved ones.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, Sept. 12, 2025, at 9 a.m., in Anahuac Cemetery, Anahuac, Texas.
Born on Feb. 24, 1935, in Kentucky, Abe was an Indian. He lived a life full of love, strength and compassion for those around him. Abe’s memory will live on in the heart of all that knew him. He loved to fish and sing to his wife all the time, he had his own band, he was also a carpenter, he had a dog that loved him that slept with him, he loved to take his wife to hibachi on Saturday nights. The community knew him as the fisherman.
Abe was preceded in death by his parents and sibling, and Donnie Bennett.
His survivors are his kids Elaine Ann, David Lee, Daniel Lin Bagby and his grandkids, and his wife Elaine Bagby. Her kids David & Diane Webb and their kids Zachary, Hope and Shyann, and their kids Noah, Levi, Grayson, Payton, Beau, Pixie. Jerome and Eva Bennett and his kids Kyle and Kristin. Bruce and Charles Atherton and their kids.
