Joan Elaine Freeman, a beloved soul, was born on March 10, 1944, in Tyler, Texas. She peacefully departed from this world on September 9, 2025, in Cleveland, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of love, adventure, and cherished memories.

Joan was a woman of many passions. She found immense joy in the pages of her favorite books, often getting lost in tales that transported her to different realms. In her early years, she embraced the thrill of scuba diving, relishing the beauty of the underwater world. Her adventurous spirit extended beyond the ocean, as she loved to travel with her husband, Basil, exploring new places and creating unforgettable memories together.

Family meant everything to Joan. She adored her son, Basil Dexter Freeman, and his loving family, including her grandsons Jade Freeman and his wife Katelynn Courtney, Brandon Murphy, and Marshall Freeman. Her granddaughter, Tabitha Freeman, was a bright light in her life. Joan is also survived by other loving relatives and a host of friends who will forever remember her warmth and kindness.

Joan’s love for animals was evident in the way she cared for them, reflecting her gentle nature and compassion. She had a unique ability to connect with those around her, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she encountered, especially with Ghost, her grandson’s dog that loved cuddling with her.

Those who knew Joan Elaine Freeman will remember her not just for her interests and adventures, but for the love she shared so generously. Though she has joined her beloved husband, Basil Dexter Freeman, her parents Leon Orville Wilson and Peggy Avis Wilson, her daughter Angelia Freeman, her sister Jane Wilson, and her niece Jaymi Freeman in eternal rest, her spirit will forever linger in the hearts of her family and friends.

Joan leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories, each thread woven with love and laughter. She was a remarkable woman whose life was a testament to the beauty of connection and the joys of living fully. Her legacy will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
