The Dayton Rotary Club met for its monthly business meeting last week and took time to welcome several new members into the organization.

Club President Dr. Luke Chachere opened the meeting with prayer, followed by Rotarian Ken DeFoor leading members in the pledges. Assistant District Governor Ernestine Belt conducted the new member induction ceremony.

“We appreciate Ernestine Belt’s time in coming to a second meeting in the past two months to induct new members. Welcome to all of our new Rotarians,” Dr. Chachere said.

This past summer, the Dayton Rotary Club set a goal to grow its membership. That goal has now been exceeded, and members are looking forward to welcoming even more future Rotarians into their “Service Above Self” club.

During the business portion of the meeting, Dr. Chachere also shared details about upcoming events, including the club’s second annual 4-Wheeler Fundraiser. Only 250 tickets will be available, giving participants better odds of winning. The fundraiser is being held in partnership with Tejas Motorsports of Crosby.

Anyone interested in purchasing a ticket is encouraged to contact a Dayton Rotary Club member for more information.
