The Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office announced the death of K9 Arko, who recently passed away from an unexpected medical issue.

Arko, a 6-year-old Belgian Malinois, joined the agency in late 2022 through a generous donation. He was trained as a dual-purpose patrol and narcotics K9 and, over the course of his career, completed 152 deployments and logged 576 training hours.

“K9 Arko served with heart and courage,” Constable Kenneth “Rowdy” Hayden said. “We are grateful for his service and for the community’s support of his handler and our team.”

The constable’s office asked the public to keep Arko’s handler and the department in their thoughts and prayers during this time.
