Joe Ray Lock

Joe Ray Lock, a beloved husband, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on October 13, 2025, in Cleveland, Texas. Born on October 1, 1944, in Houston, Texas, Joe’s vibrant spirit and zest for life have left an indelible mark on those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Throughout his life, Joe enjoyed an array of hobbies that brought him immense joy. He found peace and happiness in fishing and hunting, activities that connected him with nature and provided moments of calm reflection. His love for Country Western music was not just a passion, but a soundtrack to his life, intertwining with his fondness for playing Country-based video games. Joe also enjoyed watching wrestling or immersing himself in his favorite Country Western movies, particularly those featuring iconic stars like John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, or Perry Mason.

Joe’s warmth and kindness shone brightly in every interaction he had. He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Mary Virginia Lock, who stood by his side through all of life’s moments. He leaves his brother, Sam Lock, and sister-in-law, Shannon, and his sister, Margaret Moore, who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. Alongside them, many loving nieces, nephews, family members, and treasured friends will remember Joe for his joyful spirit and unwavering support.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Johnie Haldane Lock and Zula Mae Lock. Joe is also reunited in eternal rest with his brothers, David Lock, Bill Lock, James Robert Locke, and John Lock, as well as his sisters, Martha Blanton, Betty Lou Hettinger, and Laura Mae Hadley. They will be remembered as loved ones who contributed richly to his life.

Visitation for Joe Ray Lock will be held on October 17, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM, both at Neal Funeral Home, located at 200 South Washington Avenue, Cleveland, TX 77327.

Joe’s legacy is one of love and joy, and he will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
