TVE kicks off in Liberty with parade, rodeos, and live music through the weekend

The Trinity Valley Exposition (TVE), Liberty County’s long-running county fair, is underway this week at the TVE Fairgrounds on FM 563 in Liberty. The annual event features rodeo action, livestock competitions, a carnival, live music, and community celebrations that draw visitors from across the region.

The festivities officially kicked off Wednesday morning, Oct. 15, with the TVE Rodeo Parade through downtown Liberty. The parade featured local high school bands, youth sports leagues, cheerleaders, fire trucks, top entries from last Saturday’s Baby Parade, and the TVE Trail Riders, all helping to usher in one of Liberty County’s most anticipated traditions.

Events continue Thursday, Oct. 16, with livestock judging throughout the day and the Old Time Cowboy Reunion at 5 p.m. The TVE carnival also will open at 5 p.m., and at 7:30 p.m., the Sonny Sikes Pioneer Championship Chute Out will take place in the rodeo arena. Following the rodeo, fairgoers can enjoy a concert featuring Austin Tellez and Logan Ryan.

Friday’s schedule includes the livestock freezer sale and the Youth Livestock Auction, which begins at 10 a.m. in the TVE rodeo arena. That evening, the carnival continues at 5 p.m. along with another night of rodeo at 7:30 p.m., followed by a concert with Marshland Ranch and David Lewis.

Saturday will feature another full day of fun, with the carnival beginning at 11 a.m. and running into the evening, another round of the Sonny Sikes Pioneer Championship Chute Out, and a performance by George Dearborne after the rodeo.

The week concludes Sunday with the popular Ranch Rodeo at 3 p.m., highlighting local ranching traditions and horsemanship.
