Charles Darwin Cain

Charles Darwin Cain, 60, of Salem, Oregon, passed away from a long battle with cancer, on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2025, at his residence. He was born on Sept. 14, 1965, in Houston, Texas to Henry and Marolyn Cain.

He grew up and went to High School in Dayton, Texas. Charles proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps.  After his service he moved to Salem, Oregon, where he met and married his wife Holly on April 19, 2017.  He retired from Platinum Electric, a commercial electric business he had owned and built from the ground up.

Charles pursued many interests, some of which included skiing, hiking, gardening, fishing and pretty much anything outdoors.  One of his favorite hobbies was cooking, in which he excelled. Charles was always a positive person who was very kind and respectful.

Charles was preceded in death by his father Henry. He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory his beloved mother Marolyn May Whisenhunt Cain of Dayton; his wife Holly of Salem Oregon; his siblings, Johnathan P. Cain and wife Selena of Dayton, David A. Cain and wife Paula of Dayton, and Melessa M. Ponzio and husband Curtis of Beaumont; his uncle John A. Cain of Dayton, James A. Cain and wife Lisa of Dayton, and Mary Cain Lozano of Batson; his twenty three nieces and nephews and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2pm, on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2025, at the Gazebo in Liberty Municipal Park, 501 Richard E. Vinson Dr, Liberty, TX 77575. Anyone who knew Charles or knows the family is welcome to stop by, visit and share their memories of and enjoy.
