John Paul Oliver

John Paul Oliver, 74, of Camden, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home in Spring on Oct. 11, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with Congestive Heart Failure.

Born on May 4, 1951, in Camden, Texas, to JP and Lela Oliver, Paul was a dedicated family man whose love knew no bounds. He was a proud graduate of Brazosport High School, Class of 1969. Paul built a long and respected career as a Health, Safety & Environmental professional, working for numerous oil, gas, and petrochemical construction companies, including Raytheon, Litwin, ABB Lumus, and Chicago Bridge & Iron. He was a natural leader, known for his calm, cool, and collected demeanor, always ready with wisdom and guidance for his colleagues.

Above all, Paul’s passions were his family, sports, deer hunting, and fishing. He was a devoted father who cherished spending time with his son, whether it was coaching his little league teams, including him in every project, or sharing a love for movies like Smokey and the Bandit. Paul’s playful spirit, seen in his loving teasing and infectious laugh, created a lifetime of cherished memories. He was a hardworking man who embodied the saying of being “like a duck on a pond”—calm on the surface while working tirelessly underneath to support those he loved. His greatest joys in recent years were his grandchildren, who were his absolute pride and joy.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents, JP and Lela Oliver; his brothers, Jerry “Ox” Oliver and Raymond Oliver; and his sister-in-law, Kay Oliver.

He is survived by his son, Jared Oliver and wife Rachel, and his grandchildren, River and Jaxon; his daughter, Misty Bellow, her husband and three beautiful children; his wife, Shelley Brewer; his sister, Gail Craig; sister-in-law, Kathy Oliver; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him dearly.

A man of great character, dedication, and love, Paul’s legacy of selflessness and strength will live on in all who knew him.
