Tommy Lee Jones

Tommy Lee Jones, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a U.S. Navy Veteran, passed away peacefully on Dec. 11, 2025, in Splendora, Texas. Born on April 7, 1939, in Higley, Arizona, Tommy lived a life enriched by his unwavering faith, family bonds, and a passion for serving others.

Tommy enjoyed a fulfilling career as a retired computer programmer, dedicated to the FAA, where he made significant contributions throughout his working years. After retiring, he found joy in teaching photoshop editing to seniors at Kingwood Junior College in Kingwood, Texas, exemplifying his love for sharing knowledge and empowering others.

He was blessed with a large and loving family, which included his children, Kelly Sue Morgan and her husband Buzz, Tammy Krogman, Maria Ann Johnson, Monica Johnson, Mary Johnson, and Maranda Coon and her husband Randy. Tommy cherished the time spent with his sisters, Janie Tucker and her husband LeeRoy, Joe Ann Ryan, and Nancy Beaty. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy, Dean Logan, Christy Cole, Janice Stowe, Tommy Galloway, Blake Krogman, Lexalee Flanagan and her fiancé Robert Mills, Brittani Smith, Lori Johnson, Frankie Rocha and his wife Kortnie, Cindy Rocha, Julee Morgan, Cailee Morgan, Billy Curtis, Austin Oliver, and Roy DeLeon. He was especially proud of his great-grandchildren, Amanda Cole, Zoe Mae Widman, Kinsleigh Love Smith, Greyson James Smith, Jordan Timothy Smith, Faythe Cox, Shelbi Cox, Kimber Cox, Colter Johnson, Hanah Rocha, Frankee Rocha, Frankie Rocha, John Lewis, Hunter Lewis, and Deseria Lewis. Tommy is also survived by other loving relatives and a host of friends who will remember him fondly.

Tommy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Wilma Mae Jones; his father, Joseph Arch Jones; his mother, Myrtle Carrie Jones; his daughter, JoAnne Stowe; his brothers, Gene Jones, Layman Jones, Donald Jones, James Sutton, and J.L. Jones; and his sisters, Melva Henry and Joyce Stephens.

A graveside service will be held on Dec. 17, 2025, at Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas, beginning at 10:00 AM. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of Tommy’s life and the many cherished memories they shared.

Tommy Lee Jones will be remembered as a faithful servant to the Lord, a man who loved his family and friends deeply. He enjoyed watching westerns, his favorite was “Lonesome Dove.” He liked working on vehicles and exploring the fascinating world of genealogy. His warm spirit and kind heart will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
