Chassidy Dawne Smith

Chassidy Dawne Smith, age 49, of Dayton, Texas, entered eternal rest on Dec. 18, 2025. She was born on Dec. 29, 1975, in Houston, Texas, to Robert Earl Morgan and Joy Jean Belrose.

Chassidy lived in Dayton, Texas, for the past 16 years and was formerly a resident of Crosby, Texas. She was a faithful member of Greater Faith Apostolic Church, where she was actively involved in anything pertaining to her church. Chassidy also worked at Greater Faith Academy School, where her love for children and her servant’s heart were evident to all.

She truly loved kids and enjoyed doing for others. Chassidy liked going to the beach, staying busy, and above all, she loved being a grandmother. She was always on the go, and if there was something happening at church, Chassidy was there.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents; her father, Robert Morgan; and her stepfather, Samuel Cooper.

Chassidy leaves to cherish her memory her loving mother, Joy Cooper; her daughters, Jessica Belrose, Kassie Smith, and Kayla Smith; and her beloved grandchildren, Alexis Belrose, Mallorie Grigsby, Skylynn Grigsby, Matthew Hayes, Mason Hayes, Cooper Smith, Corbyn Smith, and Kaylanni Smith. She also leaves a host of family members, church family, and friends who will forever treasure her memory.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, Dec. 21, 2025, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Pace Stancil Funeral home in Dayton, Texas.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, Dec. 22, 2025, at 11 a.m., at Greater Faith Apostolic Church in Dayton.

A graveside service will follow at San Jacinto Memorial Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
