Lone Star College-Kingwood will host an Open House for the Academy for Lifelong Learning (ALL) Program in January.
The ALL Program is for adults 50 and older who want to learn new skills and make new friends. More than four hundred classes are offered each semester on topics such as computer science, gardening, history, movies, music, theatre, politics, fitness, and more. At Kingwood, Mah Jongg and pickleball are by far the most popular classes.
“Our ALL Program builds friendships and a sense of belonging for those who attend our classes,” shared Continuing Education Director Pat Chandler. “It also encourages a lifelong curiosity. Additionally, it helps area senior adults stay connected to their community.”
ALL members can attend classes at any LSC campus.
“Fantastic opportunity to meet people, learn new things, and broaden outlook on so many things,” remarked Vicki H. “So grateful to have this resource locally.”
“I am very impressed by the hard work and dedication of all the volunteers who teach or coordinate Lone Star College’s ALL classes. The selection of classes is great. The classes I took so far were informative and well-presented,” said Claudine C.
Annual membership (Sept. 1-Aug. 31) is $25 for access to classes at all seven LSC campuses. There are no educational requirements. Although most courses are free, some may require a small event fee for supplies or entrance.
The LSC-Kingwood ALL Open House will be held Friday, January 9, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Student Conference Center (SCC) on the Kingwood campus.
