Mary Lillian Floyd Jordan

Mary Lillian Floyd Jordan, 89, of Silsbee, Texas, passed away on Jan. 2, 2026. She was born in Beaumont, Texas on Jan. 4, 1936. She grew up in Batson as the baby and only daughter of Ira and Ruth Floyd. After many years of dedicated service, she retired from Gulf States Utilities (later Entergy). She married the love of her life, Doug Jordan in 1972. Together, they spent over 30 wonderful years by each other’s side until Doug passed away in 2007.

Mary was a loyal follower of Christ, having been a member of the First Baptist Church of Silsbee for decades. She dearly loved spending time with the multiple dog and cat companions she had over the years. Mary was the epitome of a strong and stylish southern lady. She will be remembered fondly for her shiny Cadillac, her beautiful outfits, the elegant bun she kept her hair in, her fierce independence and her beautiful blue eyes. She will also be remembered for her famous banana pudding that was quickly devoured at family meals.

She is preceded in death by her husband Miles Daniel “Doug” Jordan, her parents Ira and Ruth Floyd; her three brothers Ira Floyd Jr., Rub Floyd, and Johnie “Bill” Floyd; and nephew Larry Floyd. She is also preceded in death by her siblings-in-law, Billie Floyd, Zelma Bertram, Lola Jennusa, Gladys Rogers, Gene Jordan and Jack Jordan.

She is survived by her step-son Dan (Karen) Jordan and his family; sister-in-law Claudie Floyd; nephews John (Darla) Floyd, David Floyd, Gary (Danette) Floyd, Ronnie Floyd, and niece Donna (Kent) Robicheaux. Also left to cherish her memory are countless friends and relatives who are grateful to have known her.
