Frances Fowler, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on Jan. 5, 2026, in Mont Belvieu, Texas, at the age of 101. Born on Dec. 22, 1924, in Liberty County, Clark, Texas, to the late Henry and Ruby Campbell, Frances’s life was a testament to the enduring power of love and the strength of family bonds.
Frances was the cherished wife of Ercel Fowler for 71 years, a union blessed with profound love and devotion until his passing in 2013. Together, they raised a loving family, instilling in their children the values of kindness and faith. Frances is survived by her sons, Malcolm Fowler and his wife Judy, Vernon Fowler and his wife Blanca, and was preceded in death by her son, Ercel Carroll Fowler. Her legacy continues through her brother, Billy Ray Campbell, and sister, Helen Wiggins, as well as through the memory of her siblings who have gone before her: Sam Campbell, Beatrice Mitchell, Noah Campbell, Doris Pye, Minnie Bell Campbell, and Jimmy Campbell. Frances’s life is celebrated by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, each a shining star in the vast sky of her love.
A resident of Crosby, Texas for many years, Frances dedicated her life to the service of her family as a homemaker. Her home was a welcoming haven, filled with the aroma of her terrific cooking, and the warmth of her generous spirit. Frances’s hands were rarely still, as she found joy in creating meals that not only nourished the body but also comforted the soul.
A devout Christian, Frances was a member of Uvalde Baptist Church for over five decades, where her faith was as unwavering as it was heartfelt. Her involvement with The Order of the Eastern Star as a worthy matron exemplified her commitment to her community and her desire to serve others.
Frances was a woman of many friendships, each one treasured and nurtured over the years. Her friendly demeanor was a welcoming embrace to all who knew her. She was a kind and faith-filled soul, whose presence was a source of comfort and inspiration to those around her.
To have known Frances Fowler was to have witnessed the embodiment of love in action. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, we are reminded of the impact one life, lived with purpose and grace, can have on the world. Frances’s memory will forever be a guiding light to her family, her church, her friends, and all who were blessed to cross her path.
The family of Mrs. Fowler invites you to join them for visitation on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2026 from 5 to 8 p.m., in the chapel of Carter-Conley Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held the next day, Friday., at 11 a.m., at the First Concord Baptist Church, 5958 CR 2132, Cleveland, Texas. Graveside services will immediately follow at Concord Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her husband under the direction of Carter-Conley Funeral Home.
