Debbye Irish, a beacon of love and creativity, entered into rest on Jan. 12, 2026, leaving behind a tapestry of cherished memories woven throughout her remarkable life. Born on March 4, 1964, in the vibrant city of Tacoma, Wash., she radiated warmth and kindness that touched the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Debbye’s journey was ensconced in the embrace of her beloved family and friends. After 43 joyful years of marriage, she and her devoted husband, Douglas Irish, forged an unbreakable bond that stood as a testament to enduring love. Together, they nurtured a family filled with laughter, support, and boundless affection. Debbye was the proud mother of Allen Irish and his wife Arminta, Mitchell Irish, and Kimberly Irish. Each of her children carried a piece of her spirit, reflecting her dedication and unwavering love.

In addition to her immediate family, Debbye was cherished by her mother, Bonnye Lewellen, and her father, Arnold Lewellen. Her siblings, Timothy Scott Burton, Cynthia Coberly, and Rebecca Volk and her husband Dave, were not just family; they were confidants and companions in her many adventures. Debbye’s nurturing nature extended to her ten beloved grandchildren, whose lives she enriched with her creativity and affection.

Her hobbies were a delightful expression of her vibrant personality. Debbye found immense joy in crafts, skillfully painting statues and adorning her creations with charming bows. Her home was a canvas, beautifully enhanced by her talents in sewing and crocheting, and she was often found making curtains that brought light and beauty into her family’s lives. The act of nurturing her family was her greatest pleasure, and her love for them knew no bounds.

Debbye’s spirit will be indelibly etched in the hearts of all who knew her, including the many friends she and Douglas made during his esteemed Navy career. Her legacy is one of creativity, deep affection, and a profound care for others that transcended the ordinary.

She now joins her late father, Frank Burton, and her nephew, Timothy Scott Burton II, in eternal peace, leaving behind a world forever changed by her presence. As we reflect on her life, we hold her memory dear, celebrating the radiant soul who brought joy and love into our lives, indeed, a life well-lived.
