Political forum set for Feb. 3 at Cleveland Civic Center; event will be livestreamed on Facebook

Bluebonnet News will host a Political Forum and Meet & Greet on Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2026, at the Cleveland Civic Center, giving voters an opportunity to hear directly from candidates seeking local, state, and federal offices.

The event will take place at the Cleveland Civic Center, located at 210 Peach Ave. in Cleveland, Texas. The forum is being hosted by Bluebonnet News with the gracious support of the Nancy Hart Republican Women.

The evening will begin at 4 p.m. with candidates for Texas Senate District 3. Due to a prior commitment in a neighboring county, those candidates will appear first.

From 5 p.m. to 6:15 p.m., candidates in the highly contested race for U.S. Congressional District 9 will take the stage.

A meet and greet is scheduled from 6:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., allowing attendees to visit with candidates running for local offices. Candidates are encouraged to bring campaign signs and materials to share.

Candidates for the 253rd State District Court will speak from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by candidates for the 75th State District Court from 7 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. During these segments, candidates will discuss their qualifications, judicial philosophy, and approach to overseeing cases within their respective districts.

From 7:45 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., candidates for Precinct 2 Commissioner will address county governance, infrastructure, budgeting, and how decisions made by the commissioners court affect daily life in the precinct.

The forum will continue from 8:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. with candidates for County Treasurer, who will discuss fiscal responsibility and the duties of the office, including overseeing county funds, investments, and financial transparency.

The final segment of the evening, from 9 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., will feature candidates for Justice of the Peace and Pct. 4 commissioner. Candidates will have the opportunity to introduce themselves and share their qualifications. Due to time constraints and multiple justice of the peace and commissioners races, there will be no question-and-answer portion during this segment.

For those unable to attend in person, the forum will be livestreamed on the Bluebonnet News Facebook page.
