The City of Liberty has been awarded a $2,684,300 grant from the Texas General Land Office through the Community Development Block Grant–Mitigation Program.

The funds will support the construction of a new water plant on the SH 146 Bypass, which will include a new well, elevated storage, ground storage tanks, and a booster pump station.

The overall cost of the project is $10.148 million and will be funded through revenue bonds and the GLO grant. This capital improvement project will strengthen the city’s water system, improve reliability, and support continued growth.

“Thank you to our partners at the Texas General Land Office. This is a big win for the City of Liberty!” according to a statement from the City of Liberty.
