Jerry Lee Mast, 80, of Hardin, Texas, formerly of Bremen, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Feb. 17, 2026. He was born Oct. 1, 1945, in Lancaster, Ohio, to Floyd and Margaret Mast. He was a 1964 graduate of Fairfield Union High School, followed by masonry trade school which served him well over the years and provided a great life for his family.
Jerry was the beloved husband of his high school sweetheart, Cheryl (Paskins) Mast, for the last 59 years. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work, raising three children who were his pride and joy: Scott (Sherry) Mast of Nashville, Tennessee; Brian (Lorri) Mast of Nashville, Tennessee; and Stacey Williams (Robert) of Hardin, Texas.
He was a proud and devoted grandfather to five amazing grandchildren: Jack (Amber) Mast, Sam Mast, Ella Mast, Eli Mast, and Ainsley Williams. If you were willing to listen, he would gladly talk endlessly about each of them and all of their accomplishments. They were truly the light of his life.
Jerry loved to watch his kids and grandkids play sports. Over the years there wasn’t a game that he wasn’t sitting in the bleachers and either cheering for his kids or screaming at the referees/ and umpires! One of the highlights of his life was when he was on Prime Time Country with Gary Chapman. He told the stage crew that he was a professional cheerleader. They called his name to appear on stage, and they were rightfully scared that he was going to do what cheerleaders do and tumble across the stage. Thankfully he did not do any back hand springs; however, he did a cheer for the crowd which earned his family a dinner at the Wildhorse Saloon in downtown Nashville! He was a Buckeye through and through and became a big Astros fan after moving to the Lonestar state.
Jerry began working at a very young age and never truly slowed down until his health began to decline. Even then, he was always looking for something to do. No matter what his kids needed fixed or the miles in between he was always the first to volunteer to take on the job. He was a brick mason and owner of Mast Masonry, a master carpenter and dedicated employee at Farber Specialty Vehicles for over 20 years, and proudly served for 20 years as a volunteer fireman with the Rushcreek Township Fire Department. He was an avid lover of the outdoors and took great pride in tending to his lush, meticulously maintained lawns and was always willing to mow as many lawns as he could fit in his busy schedule. A lifelong member of the church of Christ, most recently a member of the Liberty Church of Christ. Jerry’s faith was an important foundation in his life.
Jerry will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his servant heart, his steady presence, and his deep love for his family. His legacy lives on in the lives of his children, grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know him.
Jerry is survived by his brother, David (Judy) Mast, his sister, Susan (Tom) Smith, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Mast, and his mother, Margaret Mast.
Visitation will be held Friday, Feb. 20, 2026, at 10 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at Liberty Church of Christ.
