Richard Sullivan Smith, Jr.

Richard Sullivan Smith, Jr., 45, of Anahuac, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on Feb. 19, 2026, at home. 

Services are Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026, at First Baptist Church, 405 S. Magnolia St., Anahuac, Texas. Funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Rivon Cemetery, Anahuac, Texas.

He loved his family deeply, worked hard, and lived with a steady, giving heart that will be remembered always. 

Richard was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Richard leaves behind his devoted wife Amanda Smith, Children: Richard Sullivan Smith III, Leroy Powell, Jalen Thomas, and Jazmin Thomas. His parents, father Richard Sullivan Smith Sr. and mother: Linda B. Smith, siblings: Darlene Wright, Audry Anderson, James Wright, Karim Wright, his mother and father-in-law: Kathy Abshier, Brian Abshier and Ray Satterwhite and Celina Dobbs. His brother in laws: James Satterwhite, Corey Satterwhite and Joshua Abshier, his sister in laws: Amy Satterwhite, Madison Abshier and daughter in law: Mackenzie Thomas, grandchildren: Ezekiel Thomas, Samuel Thomas and Naomi Thomas. A host of in laws and relatives including nieces, nephews and a host of cousins. 

He has been welcomed into eternal rest and now walks in the presence of the Lord. 

The family is grateful for the prayers, love, and support during this time.
