Lyla Michelle Ortiz

Lyla Michelle Ortiz passed away on March 6, 2026, after blessing her family with three and a half beautiful months of love and joy. Born on Nov. 24, 2025, her time with us was brief, however, she filled our days with immeasurable love, joy and precious memories that will be cherished forever.

Lyla is deeply loved by her parents, Luis & Kristen Ortiz; siblings, Adriana Ortiz, Milo Ortiz, and Nora Ortiz; grandparents, Maria Nieves & Jorge Cordero, Mike & Becky Stith, Terry Lucas; great-grandparents, Richard & Jerri O’Neil, Pat & Patsy Lucas, Jasper & Loretta Stith; aunts and uncles, Amber & Eric Galvan, Devon Stith, Matthew Stith, Fernando & Mildred Almodovar; cousin, Angelica Almodovar. She will forever remain in the hearts of her family, extended family, and all who were blessed to know and love her.

A graveside service will be held at French Cemetery, 2684 FM 1008, Dayton, Texas, at 12 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2026. A family gathering will follow the service at the Kenefick Civic Center, 228 FM 2797, Dayton, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Lyla’s siblings’ education fund.
