Barbara Fay Blackstock

Barbara Fay Blackstock, born on Nov. 20, 1946, in Pineland, Texas, peacefully passed away on March 27, 2026, in Livingston, Texas. Her life was one marked by steadfast devotion, both to her family and her faith. Barbara was a woman whose spirit was deeply rooted in love and service, living with a commitment that reflected her love for the Lord. As a faithful servant, her life was a testament to her care and dedication to those she cherished most.

Barbara embraced the role of a housewife with great pride and grace, dedicating herself to nurturing and caring for children throughout her life. She had a special place in her heart for babies and was known for the warmth and patience she extended to all young lives she touched. Her nurturing nature left an indelible mark on her family and community.

A woman of varied interests, Barbara found joy in the outdoors. She loved birds, plants, butterflies, and dragonflies. Her love for nature extended into deer hunting, fishing, and camping—a true reflection of her spirited affection for the great outdoors. Additionally, she enjoyed watching football, especially supporting the Texans from their early days as the Houston Oilers, revealing yet another facet of her vibrant personality.

Barbara’s greatest love was her husband, Lloyd James Blackstock, whom she tended to with unwavering care. Though Lloyd has preceded her in death, their bond remains a central part of Barbara’s legacy. She was also welcomed in heaven by her daughter, Doreen Blackstock, and her parents, John Raymond Cox and Evelyn Mae Likehart Cox, all of whom await her at Heaven’s gates.

She is survived by her devoted children: Loretta Jan DeSpain and husband Bobby, Laura Jae Roberts and husband Chuck, and Jennie Lynn Strader and husband James. Her siblings include Carlton Cox and wife Debbie, John Cox and wife Linda, Doug Cox and wife Dru, Calvin Cox and wife Karen, and Donna Cox. Barbara’s affectionate nature extended through generations, a fact evident in her many grandchildren: Kristen Martin, Kandace Blackstock-Allen and spouse Jason Allen, Kirsten Dawg and husband Wesley, Emily DeSpain and partner Dustin, Richard Irvins and partner Jana, Trey Roberts and wife Sarah, Chelsea Gazay and husband Brent, Lloyd Roberts and wife Jaime, Barbara Brown, Coby Emmert and wife Brittany, Kayla Plummer and husband Ethan, and Cody Strader. Her family circle further widened with her great-grandchildren: Karson Jones and partner Tatum, Blake Martin, Beaux Martin, Jaymen Allen, Evelyn Blackstock, Tripp Irvins, Lindy Jo Conklin, Jaedyn Roberts, Charleigh Roberts, Jocelyn Roberts, Gage Roberts, Hunter Roberts, Bryson Gazay, Jace Gazay, Paisley Roberts, Heidi Roberts, Jaxon Reid, Darci Brown, Caryon Brown, Wylder Brown, Presley Emmert, Greyson Emmert, Doliah Emmert, Kaidan Plummer, Julie Plummer, Bayleigh Plummer, Kolsyn Strader, and Everleigh Strader. In addition to her immediate family, Barbara is remembered fondly by other loving relatives and a host of friends who continue to carry her memory with respect and affection.

Visitation to honor Barbara’s life will be held on March 31, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Neal Funeral Home, located at 200 S Washington Ave, Cleveland, TX 77327. The funeral service celebrating her remarkable journey will follow on April 1, 2026, beginning at 11:00 AM at the same location. Her interment will follow at Oakdale Cemetery in Livingston, Texas.

Barbara Fay Blackstock leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and devotion. Her life story is woven into the hearts of all who knew her, and her memory will be cherished with deep respect and heartfelt gratitude.
