Joe Edward Bowers, Sr.

Joe Edward Bowers, Sr. came into this world Jan. 26, 1938, and left us to be with his Lord and Savior April 2, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arvil Bowers and Lillian Hodges, daughter, Betty Bess and daughter-in-law, Regina Holder.

He leaves behind his wife of 11 years, Gay Bowers, siblings, Birdie Fletcher, Davis Bowers, Judy Gland and Ethel Howard, his children, Jackie Holder, Sylvia Reinsch, Cindy Toy and husband Johnny, Peggy Renee Kowis, Renee Reid and husband Shannon, and Joe Bowers Jr. and husband Doug, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews and other family members that loved him dearly.

Joe was a Navy veteran, truck driver, construction worker and bricklayer. He was also a proud member if the Indian Nation. The greatest love in his life was his music and those he played with, some of those include Roy Rogers, Alan Jackson and Willie Nelson among other famous artist.

He also mentored Texas Country artist Jason Allen that even wrote a special song about the man he knew as Uncle Joe. After all Joe was known to all that loved him as “The Music Man.”

Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, April 8, 2026, in the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel from 1-3 p.m. Funeral Service will begin at 3 p.m. Burial will follow in the Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens Cemetery.
