Linda Wertz Leonard, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on April 8, 2026, in Liberty, Texas. She was born on Jan. 27, 1950, in Leesburg, Fla., to Larkin and Doris Rowe, who instilled in her the values of family, resilience, and kindness that shaped her entire life.
Linda had a deep love for the simple joys of the world around her. The beach was her sanctuary, a place where she found peace in the sound of the waves and the warmth of the sun. She enjoyed fishing and treasured every moment spent outdoors, especially when shared with the people she loved most. Family was the heart of Linda’s life, and she poured her energy, humor, and unwavering support into every gathering, celebration, and quiet moment together.
She also had a sharp mind and a passion for public service. Linda enjoyed politics and dedicated many years to her work as Liberty County Treasurer then began as County Coordinator for the 253rd District Court, where she was known for her diligence, integrity, and commitment to her community.
Linda’s presence brought warmth and steadiness to those around her. Her laughter, her stories, and her love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
May her memory be a blessing and a source of comfort to her family and friends.
