Linda Pierce

Linda Pierce, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and talented creative spirit, passed away on April 23, 2024, in her hometown of Baytown, Texas. She was surrounded by her loving family after bravely facing a long illness.

Born on January 16, 1937, in Baytown to the late Silas Portervine Wilson and Lida Mae Burns Wilson, Linda’s life was marked by creativity and compassion. She wore many hats throughout her life – from being a dedicated stay-at-home mom to pursuing various artistic passions and professional endeavors.

Linda’s creativity knew no bounds as she published a book, explored quilting, crocheting, floral design, painting, ceramics, and woodworking. Her talents extended to being an interior decorator and owning a flower shop along with a ceramic shop and catering company. Linda’s legacy also includes the heartfelt short stories she wrote for her grandchildren.

One of Linda’s proudest accomplishments was being a member of the Old River Baptist Church where she found community and solace.

She is survived by her loving husband Merwyn B. “Merv” Pierce; children Jamie Neal (Mark), William “Bill” Foreman (Wendy), Bret Pierce (Kathy), and Pam Rokyta (Norm); grandchildren Shon Neal (Angela), Robert Neal, Erik Pierce (Tamami), Jodi Holt (Darrick), Jered Pierce (Brittany), Brody Pierce (Jamie), Michael Williamson, Garett Wilder, Brennan Morrison, and Sayde Morrison (Fiancé’ Eric Campbell), Charlie Neal; 24 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces; nephews; extended family members; and friends who will all cherish her memory.

Linda was preceded in death by her son Sandy Pierce; grandsons Jordon Pierce and Jessie Woods; first husband William P. Foreman; brother James Wilson; yet their spirits live on in the hearts of those who knew Linda best.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 26, 2024 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 26, 2024 at Pace Stancil with Rev. Charles Swick officiating. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. April 26, 2024 at the McAdams Cemetery in Crabbs Prairie outside of Huntsville.

Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers will be Brennen Morrison, Garett Wilder, Rob Neal, Michael Williamson, Erik Pierce, Brody Pierce, Charlie Neal and Jered Pierce. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Shon Neal.
