Sammy Earl Neal

Sammy Earl Neal, age 76 of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2018. He was born April 2, 1942 in Dolen, Texas to parents William Franklin and Della Lee Alexander Neal who preceded him in death along with his son, Stanley Neal; son-in-law, Kernest Strom; brother, Bill Alexander Neal; sister, Dorothy Mae Neal-Brister; and grandson, Ryan Anthony Strom.

Mr. Neal retired from the Houston Fire Department as an Arson Investigator after 36 years and 1 day. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Cleveland, Texas.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Patsy Chandler Neal; sons, Richard Neal and wife Sonya, William Allen Neal and Michael Neal; daughters, Charlotte Strom and Angela O’Pry and husband AJ; grandchildren, Ashley Neal-Priebe and husband Jon, Jennifer Neal, Cynthia Neal, Krista Medrano and husband Aaron, Daniel Neal, Alexis Neal, Jason Strom, Allison Strom, Angelica O’Pry, Elizabeth O’Pry and Jessica O’Pry; great-grandchildren, Emma Priebe, Sadie Priebe and Ava Catanzano; numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Pace Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 16, 2018 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1100 Southline St, Cleveland, TX 77327. Interment will follow at Cleveland City Cemetery, Cleveland, Texas. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
