Clara Elizabeth Beard

Clara Elizabeth Beard, 83, of Hankamer, Texas, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on July 16, 2018, in Baytown, Texas. She was born on February 9, 1935, to John Bennett and Olivia Treadway in Pearlington, Mississippi.

On March 3, 1951, Clara married the love of her life David Royal Beard, and they had 5 children together. Clara loved to bake, make candy, crochet, plant in her garden and even go for the big catch while fishing. She wanted to be called “Nannie” because she felt she was too young to be called grandma.

Clara was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband; and their two infant children Dawn Elizabeth and David R. Beard.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories her daughters, Evelyn and Thomas Johns of Diboll, Texas, Rhonda and Michael Ferguson of Baytown, Texas and Lauretta Fabian of Baytown, Texas. Sisters, Blanche Dresselle of Lafayette, Louisiana and Patricia Sims of Splendora, Texas. Clara also leaves behind six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Friends are invited to visit with the family beginning at 2:00pm on July 19, 2018, at Sterling Funeral Home in Anahuac, Texas located at 1201 S. Main, Anahuac, Texas 77514. Following the visitation will be a procession to Anahuac Cemetery for a Graveside Service at 3:00pm.
