Firefighters battle a fire at the Shack BBQ restaurant in Cleveland Friday night. Firefighters were dispatched to the scene around 8:45 p.m. and quickly had the fire under control.

Firefighters from Cleveland, Tarkington, Plum Grove and East Montgomery County battled a fire at the Shack BBQ restaurant on N. San Jacinto St. around 8:45 p.m. Friday.

According to Cleveland Fire Chief Sean Anderson, the fire was in the structure around the smoker. Fire was contained to that area, though the rest of the building has water and smoke damage.

Cleveland Public Works assisted the fire departments. Entergy and Centerpoint-Entex secured the utilities at the building to avoid any further problems.
